Erin Mae talks with Mickey Sweeney, the 2023 National Hammered Dulcimer Champion. Mickey Sweeney met her first hammered dulcimer in St. Augustine six years ago; it was love at first sight! A classical pianist with a couple of music degrees, she taught music at every level from preschool to college at some point before she retired. She placed in the top 5 at the National competition in 2021, won third place at the National Hammered Dulcimer Competition in 2022, and won in 2023.
